Rainforest talks

We are available for giving slide presentations about tropical rainforest ecology and conservation and our work in the forest canopy to groups such as schools, conservation organizations, nature clubs, birding clubs, zoo groups, teachers, civic organizations, church groups, garden clubs and adult education classes.

Paul Donahue speaking to high school natural resources class in Eastport, Maine

We are willing to speak, and are experienced at speaking, to groups of all ages, from kindergarten classes, through high school and college groups, to adult groups. The content and depth of our talk can be adjusted according to the age of the group.

The content of our talks and slide presentations can also be adjusted to focus more on general rainforest ecology, rainforest canopy ecology, our work constructing canopy walkways in the rainforest, or rainforest conservation issues, depending on the interests of the group.

Both of us particularly enjoy speaking with young people. We believe that the tropical rainforest, as well as the rest of the planet, is in very serious trouble. We also feel it is especially important to teach young people about the importance of the earth's natural resources as they are the country's future leaders, voters and consumers. We believe that saving the planet will require every bit of energy, commitment, ingenuity, strength, passion, and perseverance that the human race can muster, and that these qualities are most likely to be found among young people.
